What is Love?
What is Love?
Love...is getting a Valentine’s Day card in the mail from your Gram the first year after you split with your ex...which coincidently was her first after my Grandad passed away (sigh)...That’s love
Love...is your Mom telling you how brave she thought you were when you confided how lost in life you were...That’s love
Love...is your brother taking the long route to drop you off just to let you say what’s on your mind and in your heart...That’s love
Love...is sending a message to your sister with the code sentence “I need my sister” and knowing she will drop everything to be there for you...That’s love
Love...is one of your dear friends opening their arms to give you a much- needed hug when they saw you falling apart...That’s love
Love...is one of your very best friends making time out of their busy schedule to spend the night with you the night before your birthday...That’s love
Love...is feeling the good feels when you see people helping people who need help so desperately...That’s love
Love...is hearing a widower talk about his wife and the diary she wrote in every day and how he would often go back to the day that they first kissed...That’s love
Love...is your Mom putting on a brave face for her children saying, “I’m sorry, kids...I thought I could hang on for a little bit longer...” ...That’s love
Love is all of those and sooo much more...

P.S. I met Ben (widower) the other day at my local and although there was a partition between us, we leaned back in our chairs and talked about love and life. He lost his wife this past January...they were married for 72 years! I asked him how they met and he shared with a smile that they met in grade 9 at school. He then told me about the diary that she wrote in EVERY day. In his words, “She even wrote down the first day we kissed!” I asked him if he often rereads that day and he said with a smile and a tear in his eye, “All the time!” That, my friends, is Love ♥️
